Colleen Jackson

Kia ora.

I am a qualified Dietitian, registered with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand.

I have completed a Bachelor degree in Science (BSc), a Masters in Human Nutrition (MHN), a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics (MND), and a post graduate diploma in clinical research.

I have over 20 years of hospital experience as a clinical dietitian, researcher and manager.

I am also registered with several professional education bodies, for currency of information on research and best practice, and hold an Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

I'm here to help

I currently live in Devonport and aim to contribute to the wellbeing of our community by providing qualified nutrition advice and support.

I am a clinical dietitian with Te Whatu Ora (Waitemata)  and also offer a private nutrition service as the founding director of Gutful.

I am available to consult on all aspects of dietetics including under or over-nutrition, cardiovascular health, and diabetes.

My particular area of interest is the gastrointestinal tract; this includes food intolerance,  irritable bowel syndrome IBS), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO),  and the gut microbiota – which is proving to have an increasing role in metabolism and immunological health.

My scientifically based advice pays respect to more traditional nutrition theory.

Consultations

Nutrition assessment, education and planning is negotiated to meet your individual needs and the cost determined accordingly.

Private home visits

Home visits can make my service more accessible and ensure I understand how your environment impacts your choices. Practical support can also be provided at home; in terms of food access and preparation.

Devonport Health Centre

I am also available for private consultations at Devonport Health Centre in Victoria Road.

Please feel free to contact me to make an appointment.

Nga mihi, Colleen
